Sombrero Beach

Sombrero Beach is in the city of Marathon which encompasses numerous islands in the Florida Keys. Turn toward the Atlantic Ocean on Sombrero Beach Road at about mile-marker 50. Follow the road for a couple of miles through a nice neighborhood. You'll see the beach park on the left.

Parking is free and the beach park area is fenced. This very well maintained park has clean restrooms, covered picnic pavilions, playground equipment, a kayak launch next to a short dock, and a magnificent crescent-shaped white sand beach with tall coconut palms. The water here is deeper than on most Florida Keys beaches, so it's good for swimming.

I consider Sombrero Beach to be the second best beach in the Keys, after Bahia Honda State Park Beaches.

Live Streaming Web Cam: Sombrero Beach Web Cam Sponsored by Island Fish Company, which is an excellent place to eat. I can personally attest to that! (note: this is NOT a paid ad.) Had dinner there one evening sitting right on the dock. Beautiful.
