Directions: A few blocks south of the Dunlawton Avenue beach ramp you’ll find the Sunglow Fishing pier. The pier parking lot is sandwiched between the Sunglow Resort and the Ocean Villas Condominium. Just look for the Crabby Joe’s Deck Grill sign where Phyllis Avenue crosses A1A. Crabby Joes is the restaurant on the pier. It’s beach casual, naturally.

I don’t recommend this location for the beach experience, but it’s a novel place to grab a bite to eat and get a great view of the Daytona coastline. Fantastic photo opportunity, and if you like to watch the surfers, it’s a great place to do just that. Great fishing spot too.

The Sunglow Pier is a lot quieter than the Main Street Pier; it’s my kind of pier. It’s open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for fishing, sightseeing or having a meal at the restaurant or a drink at the bar.

This pier is a lot smaller than the Main Street Pier. In fact, it’s small enough that you can feel it sway a bit when the big breakers hit the support pilings.

The pier restaurant, Crabby Joe's, is about halfway out on the pier. To go further than the restaurant it will cost you $1.00 just to walk out for the view. If you are fishing, the price is around $7 for adults, $3 for under 12.

The pier tackle shop rents poles for $2/hour or $5.25 for all day. Prices are subject to change, of course. They also sell frozen shrimp, mullet and squid for bait.
