How Sun Damages Your Skin

How the sun damages your skin:
  • interferes with proper collagen formation
  • disrupts normal skin repair and renewal
  • leads to the formation of free radicals
  • UV radiation inhibits the repair of DNA
  • suppresses the immune system

All of the above lead to premature wrinkles, spots, and skin cancers.

When you get a sunburn, you actually kill the top layer of your skin. That's why it peels. This is not good.

Staying out of the sun is the best protection. You can get your vitamin D from food and supplements. But I don't advocate staying indoors. The best times of my life were spent out in the sun and I wouldn't trade those times for anything. So what can we do to protect our skin?
