Protect Yourself from the Sun

I've spent most of my life on the beach, so sun protection has become a very personal issue for me. I had my first basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer) when I was in my late 20's. Since then I've had four more removed. Luckily, all of mine have been on my back. But I have friends who've had them removed from their face, with less than pleasing results.

Sun damages your skin. No one disputes that. Protect yourself using the latest sun protection products. Advanced sunscreens, umbrellas, sun protective clothing (SPF clothing), sun hats, sun glasses, and limiting exposure will minimize damage to your skin without cutting into your fun. After all, there's nothing worse than getting a bad sunburn the first day of your vacation. It's a miserable feeling.
