What people are saying about BeachHunter.net :

This was our first trip to Florida, as we usually do about 3 trips to the west coast a year. But thanks to your site and great photos we decided give the Gulf coast a go, even with the remains of the red tide it was still relaxing and beautiful, and this did start to clear toward the end of our trip (had never heard of red tide until I read this on your site, so we knew what to aspect) ... we're planning a longer stay next year around the same time so will be watching your site and reading the beach reports very closely and will try to see more on our next trip. Once again thank-you.---Hannah, South West Wales

Thank you for creating such a wonderful site about Florida beaches! We also enjoy exploring the beaches with our children, but it's been very hard to find the info until I found your web page. This is the only site that actually talks about the beaches and not the surrounding hotels and shops. We'll be visiting Boca Grande tomorrow. Can't wait! I'll be sure to recommend your site to my friends!Good luck with your work and have a great summer!---Mariana from Naples, Florida

I am such a lover of our beaches and sunsets and love your photo's and written explanations of your experiences in taking the beautiful pictures.  They captivated me and I really, REALLY appreciate you sharing your views and beauty through your lens.  You are an excellent photographer and writer.   I will let others  know of your website.---Kathy, St. Petersburg, Florida.

I think that you may have inspired me to rediscover the beauty in our backyard. ---Kim, St. Petersburg, Florida

Thanks for the awesome website you created. I found this very informative. I love the beach!!
I really enjoyed your sunset pictures as well. Anyway, thanks for your time in putting this together.

In my travels around the net, I came across the terrific site called www.BeachHunter.net !

David McRee (aka The BeachHunter) has traveled the state of Florida, visiting the beaches to give a 'true view' of the beaches themselves.

All the important information is there...from parking areas and restrooms to great pictures of the areas. I particularly like his 'Things You Should Know' page. Don't miss his article "Sanibel Island: A Planned Balance". Smile

Due out any day is David's new book - BeachHunter's Access Guide to Florida Beaches - Finding Your Paradise on The Lower Gulf Coast. I'm looking forward to reading this one and will let you all know when it comes out.-----posted on the Sanibel Captiva Island Forum by Kim, site administrator 6/4/05.

...to remain safe on the beach, Florida-beach expert David McRee recommends good old-fashioned common sense. "When you are on vacation, you have to realize that even though you may feel footloose and fancy free, you still have to use common sense."

McRee's most-important tips to stay safe on the beach? Don't swim in rough or murky water, or at night. Stay on a beach where there are lifeguards. Swim with friends. Keep your eyes on your children. Don't drink and swim. Just because you're on a beach doesn't mean you can't be the victim of a crime, so be vigilant.   Quoted in Forbes Magazine 7/22/05 http://www.forbes.com/lifestyle/2005/07/22/death-beaches-cx_ah_0719deathbeach.html?partner=rss

Thanks SO much for your website!  I'm a Miami native but I now live in Nevada. Your site is so informative....even for a native. ---Chris, from Nevada
