Fishing Clearwater Beach, Florida:

Located right across the bridge from downtown Clearwater, and convenient to all the attractions of the Tampa Bay area, fishing on the island of Clearwater Beach centers around either Pier 60, or the Clearwater Municipal Marina.

Pier 60 extends several hundred feet into the Gulf of Mexico and is open to fishermen 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. It even has a full bait house that rents and sells fishing gear, live bait, snacks and drinks. You don't need a fishing license to fish from the pier. Fishing for snook at night is big on Pier 60. Clearwater Municipal Marina is on the bay side of the island, right across from Pier 60. The marina is home to many fishing and sailing charters, dinner cruises, sight-seeing boats, dolphin tours, personal watercraft rentals, and parasailing adventures. That ought to keep you busy for a while. The area around the marina is very busy. This is a popular resort area.

What kind of fish will you catch? Offshore you can catch grouper and snapper most all year. April through October you will likely catch King mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, bonito, tuna, wahoo, billfish, grouper, snapper, cobia, tuna, amberjack, shark, permit, mahi-mahi, and others.

Inshore flats and backwaters will produce redfish, snook, speckled trout, flounder, snapper, and a host of others, depending on the season.
